In particular, SEO-savvy analyst houses game the algorithm with link-love. The general pattern is that vendor-sponsored research, which is free to the readers, gets pushed to the top and buyer-funded research, which tends to be more independent, gets pushed down. And your mention of Forrester is a great example: few Forrester-watchers would consider application development to be the firm&#039;s strong point, but it has a lot of vendor-funded papers out there.
